Kelstream Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger

Kelstream builds scraped surface heat exchangers for inline cooling or heating of your product. The Kelstream SSHE is commonly utilized in aseptic processing of foodstuffs. These heat exchangers are preferred because of their capability to process heat-sensitive, viscous, or particulate-laden products, enhance the heat transfer of viscous products, and minimize the extent of burn-on, or fouling on the heat transfer surface. We bring together the know-how of our specialists and your specific preferences. Only then can it be the infallible link in your demanding production process.

Specs and Facts

Kelstream makes a heat transfer calculation based on the properties of your specific product, its initial temperature and the desired final temperature. The suitable Kelstream is then calculated based on this information. This can be only one Kelstream or several Kelstreams connected in series. We also determine which cooling/warming medium can be used best.

The Kelstream Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers are built in various versions. From the Kelstream F50, with a product capacity of 120 ltr/hr up to and including the Kelstream F700, with a heated surface of 7 square meters per unit.

  • Use steam to save more then 90% of heat transfer surface

Steam is most effective at transferring heat when it condenses on a surface at a lower temperature. The latent heat of vaporization is given up by the steam as it condenses. Maximum heat transfer occurs when steam is allowed to condense on a heat transfer surface without restriction or obstruction.
